This week, we celebrated Mental Health Awareness! Whilst focusing on this year’s theme ‘Movement. Moving for our mental health’, we understand that being active is important for our mental health and has been proven to reduce anxiety and depression, and it can help us to prevent physical illnesses.
During the week, we treated our team to plenty of little treats, surprises and (fitness) activities as a ‘thank you’ and reflection on how much we appreciate, support and care for them all, not only during events like this but each and every day. These are all the exciting activities, exercises and treats we provided throughout the week:
Monday Movement: We started off the week with our ‘2 Minutes Good Morning Workout’ stations across the nursery, encouraging the team to get their bodies moving. They were also treated with some infused waters, keeping them hydrated during the exercises.
On the morning of Treat Yourself Tuesday, we surprised our team with a healthy breakfast buffet, starting their day full of energy and promoting a well-balanced diet. The team were then treated with some small gifts, vitamin tablets and immunity shots as part of the wellbeing station.
We took Wellness Walking Wednesday as an opportunity to take our team out for some very well deserved wellbeing walks. This was a great way to take some time outside, away from the nursery environment, getting some fresh air and talking about anything that might be on their minds.
On Thoughtful Thursday, we surprised our team with a Yoga session instead of our usual team meeting. Prior to this, we treated them to a lovely salad buffet, with the motto – Healthy Body, Healthy Mind.
We finished off the Mental Health Awareness Week with a blast on Fitness Friday! During this day, we invited our team to being involved in different fitness activities in our garden and they loved getting active with the skipping ropes, yoga balls, resistant bands and badminton set! What a wonderful way to finish the week!
