During the month of October our pre-schoolers have been learning about different occupations. We invited our parents into the nursery to talk what they do for work. This was a great opportunity for children to learn about lots of different roles from money management to technology and even more.

Nikhil came in the afternoon and spoke to us about his important job! The children really enjoyed learning about how money can be used in different ways and how money can be doubled by investing or saving.

We had a visit from Natalie, who came to share with us what is she does for work. Natalie works at a bank; Natalie handles the data analysis side of things at work. Natalie showed us the spread sheets she uses daily to track all the data she needs. She also shared with us how she has to talk to people every day, as well as showing us what her workplace looks like.

Olivier came to nursery to explain what he does for work. He told us all the things he knows about trains and how they built the train tracks, the children were so fascinated.

The children had different props to help them understand what Andreas ‘s job role is, for example the setup we had were shopping baskets, food and money coins and money notes we printed out for the children. Andreas printed out a picture of his work building, just so the children could get an idea of where he works.
