On the first week of March our toddlers went on their first ‘big outing’ of the year. Along with the toddler rooms from our sister nurseries at Highbury and Melody Lane, we went to the Little Angel Studio to see “The Flying Bath”. The play follows the adventures of some bath toys which come to life during bath time, bringing-or splashing- water wherever is most needed. As well, the story is told through song and rhyme, which our toddlers absolutely loved! The whole morning was adventure-filled! From taking a walk to get to the theatre, to having al fresco snack while talking about what they imagined they play would be about, we really made a whole morning out of it!!

Once the lights were out and the play started, it was an hour full of laughter, surprise and excitement. It was heart-warming to see the awe in our children’s faces as they immersed themselves in the play and joined in the bath time adventures the flying bath took them into, being fully engaged in the play.
This outing was a milestone on its own. Firstly, we were able to provide an amazing opportunity to enhance our toddlers’ cultural capital; how often do you get to have a whole theatre reserved just for you and your friends?? But as well, this outing gave us the chance to strengthen the bond with the children and staff from our sister nurseries, creating new memories together to truly bring the sense of Monkey Puzzle Family to life! Back at the nursery, we then reflected on the eventful morning at the theatre and continued the learning by creating our very own MPA Flying Bath with the children. We are already looking forward to our next big experience together, stay tuned.
